Drink Safe Water Appeal

The Crisis

Water is an  essential of life, yet millions around the world still don’t have access to clean water. One of the most common causes of death in the developing world is drinking dirty and diseased water. Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation causes 80% of diseases and kills more people every year than all forms of violence, including war.

Did you know 748 Million people in the world don’t have access to safe water?
This is roughly one in ten of the world`s population.

Over 500,000 children die every year from diarrhoea caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation.

Just in Ghana alone over 3 million people have no choice but to collect dirty water from unsafe sources.

In the countries we work, the poor and needy have to sometimes walk between 5 and 20 KM to get access to water.

Our Approach

Caravan of Mercy aims to play an active part in trying to provide safe clean water around the world. We aim to achieve this by installing hand pumps and boreholes in those areas that are most in need.

With your donations we have already installed more than 850 hand pumps and boreholes in Africa and Asia.

The Prophet (Peace be upon him) was asked “Which is the best form of charity?” He (Peace be upon him) replied “Providing drinking water”. (Ibn Majah)

As part of our ongoing Water appeal, we have launched an appeal to install boreholes in Northern Ghana (Tamale and the surrounding areas), Ivory Coast and West Bengal. The situation in these countries is very dire and they are in urgent need of aid.

Will You Help?

You can help by donating towards our Drink Safe Water Appeal.

Providing water in this way is a very good way of offering a Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity) as the donor can expect to reap Allah’s blessings for as long as the well supplies water.

Support the water project with your Lillah donations.
